A NOTE FROM MEGAN

Hey thanks for being here! As a 90’s kid who knew you could actually pursue art as a career and not be starving or end up in a weird New York loft. Fast forward and ten years after doing the university thing (and realising I have always loved painting my whole life) here I am painting precisely what inspires me and sharing how I see the world through the story I paint. I believe in wonder, beauty, reflection and hope and would love to bring that into your space through art.

Xx

About the artist

Megan Cochran is an artist practising on Bundjalung Country (Northern Rivers NSW), Australia. The perfect location to be nature obsessed!

Her head is constantly in the trees or in a rockpool just marvelling over every detail, colour and texture. Needless to say, nature is her muse and she recently embarked on a journey of connecting with nature like never before as she prepared for her solo exhibition of 28 artworks, called 'Earth and Human' at Mist Gallery.

The exhibition was about becoming a part of nature not just a visitor and she loved experimenting with wilderness technology; using sticks, shells and sponges for mark making, while using clays and sands for texture making. She loves texture and creating 3D moments of discovery across the canvas.
